I have been taking images of all sorts of lichen for years: the shapes and colours fascinate me. In this series of quilts I explore just those elements using blocks of my own design and utilising an original free form cutting technique I have developed over several years.

Digitally manipulated and printed fabric, Japanese Shibori fabric and hand-dyed cottons. Free machine quilted.

Boro is the Japanese word for rags! These much sought after recycled garments and bed covers were repaired and reused out of necessity.
